Tyson, male Shepherd hound mix about 1,5 years old. Super funny boy. Really good looker. He is still a pup and just loves to run and play. Very good with people and friendly with other dogs. Male Husky, Shepherd mix about 1 year old. Slim, athletic-looking boy. Very fast runner. He has a wonderful, friendly personality. He is good with other dogs and loves people. He is very agile and would be great for an active family. He loves to run, so if you like to jog, he is your dog. He is a mix of two great working breeds. Bacardi has a soft, mellow personality and a sweet temperament. But he is a very fast runner and a short walk around the block would not be enough for this boy. He is still a pup and need some basic training, but he is a very fast learner and he will be a perfect dog in no time. Both the Husky and the Shepherd in him, make him very loyal to his master with a strong desire to please. This boy has a lot of potential to be wonderful, amazing friend for life.

Jasper, male Schnauzer mix and Irish wolfhound about 2 years old. Wonderful boy very submissive towards humans. We suspect he was abused physically but he loves his humans so much he is longing to be near you all the time. Jasper needs a strong person who has experience with big breeds as he is strong and he tends to pull on the leash. He is very responsive towards calm training methods and a with a bit of work and patients he will be absolutely wonderful friend for life. All he needs is a chance!!, He is very depressed and he is not doing well in a kennel. He needs to be in a foster or forever home. He is a big baby who will cling to you like a glue just to feel your touch.His huge mellow eyes are full of love but he is now getting more and more withdrawn and he is giving up hope.

1 year old male, Husky Catahoula Dog mix. This boy is friendly by nature and very playful. He is ok with other dogs.He should be placed in home with older children. He needs some basic obedience to teach him not to jump.
This boy loves to run and talk back to you. He likes to be around humans all the time and he is happy to cuddle with you. He has unique color and his coat is so soft. Very good looking boy, both by nature and his look. He is mixed with two powerful breeds. Both independent and loyal to it's master. Both breeds require strong leadership. The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog is independent, protective, and territorial. Loving with their family and all people they know well but can be reserved with strangers. Affectionate with his master. The Catahoula is not recommended for an owner who doesn't take the pack leader issue seriously. For the right owner, who understands the importance of structure, leadership, and exercise the Catahoula can make a wonderful pet. They are working dogs as well as hunting, similar to Akita.

Happy boy who loves to play and run. He is very good with dogs and people. He is still very young so he will need a bit of training, but he is a smart lovely boy and he will be great addition to any active family. This boy is very friendly, good with other dogs and loves to learn.

Marco
Marco, male Grate Dane mix about 4 years old, who loves humans and is longing to them
even after, we believe he came to KY pound after abuse. Marco came to our rescue severely
underweight but he is slowly starting to look like a dog. Marco is very friendly with all
people but he is not good with dogs and we feel he would be great as the only dog. He was
never properly socialized with his 4 legged friends, so maybe in time he will get better.
We also think he would not do well with cats. Marco did spend weeks in high kill shelter
without hope for survival but we think he is a wonderful dog who will love his humans with
all his heart. He cannot be kept at home in a crate, he is terrified to be locked in.
Lacey
Lacey, young female Amstaff mix saved from KY pound. About 2 years old. Playful, high energy, still a little scared,
but very loving, smart and expressive. Previous owner showed her nothing, but she is learning from the ground up, and quickly.
A little work and Lacey will be a great lifelong companion. We believe she may be mixed with Blue Lacy, a Southern
breed from the region she's from. House-trained, and good with kids. Looking for a home outside Ontario.

Stella beautiful Rottweiler girl about 9 years old. Left to die in Kentucky pound by her owner. This girl is sweet, gentle, loving and full of life. She's great with dogs and cats. She wants to be close to humans and loves to spend time with them. Stella is wonderful girl who wants to be loved and love back.

Christian is a male Chow Chow Shepherd cross about 2 years old.
He is afraid of humans while being in a cage but he is ok when he is on a loose.
So maybe he has some bad experience while being in a shelter. He has been surrendered by
owner because he was wondering around in the neighborhood. He was never given any attention
but he will be a wonderful dog to right person who is willing to spend time with him.
He is not very sure about people but this natural since he was not really loved and care for.
This is a very dominant breed who requires a dominant owner.
The owner of this breed of dog should be a calm person who is naturally firm, confident, and consistent.

lovely girl. She loves belly rubs and she can really smile. She is needs kind person to make her
trust again and she will be amazing addition to any family.Tonia is good with other dogs and loves

Albert, male Shepherd cross about 3 years old. Great with people, very sweet , love belly rubs. He has a good recall when called. Albert is fully house trained. He is not great with other dogs so he would be the best as the only dog.

Dexter, male Mastiff, lab mix about 1 year old.
Over all I'm a very calm dog. When I'm with people who love me I become a big teddy bear, and who likes to play nice. When given a treat because I'm a Good Boy (I love to hear those words) I will make sure that I am gentle in taking my reward that you barely feel that I have excepted it. I enjoy getting baths and will not move so that you can wash me all over from head to paws.
I'm housebroken and will wait until I'm taken outside. I walks well on the leash, but I must admit that occasionally I might pulls if I see another friendly dog, since I'm curious and would like to make friends with them. But I don't enjoy having another dog try to dominate me. That is really the only time that you will hear my protest.
When I'm in a situation that I'm unsure. My first sign is a slightly body shake starting with my legs and working it's way up, due to my nerves. I'm sure that many of you can relate to my dis-like of fast movements and loud noises when I get worried, but with a good leader I will allow my leader to take control of the situation and I'll wait for your command to either stay or come on lets walk away.
I'm great with cats and people. But at the moment I haven't been tested with kids and it's not because I don't want to investigate them, just haven't had the opportunity to be around them yet. I'm proud to say that I have learned the commands, like sit, stay and give paw.
All I need is a chance to prove how dedicated I can be and I will try me best to be e perfect dog.
Liberty (Libby)

old. Great girl. Friendly, sweet with humans and great with other
dogs. She is a bit shy at first but is warming up quickly. Loves
outdoors and plays nicely. She still needs to get use to leash but
Libby is smart and learns very quickly. She is very unique and really
wonderful girl. This special lady will be great addition to any
family.

Nina, female Collie Shepherd mix around 1 year old. Friendly, sweet girl wonderful with children, people and all dogs. Very gentle in nature with humans and very playful with dogs. Almost fully housebroken; good at home.
She is an active girl who would benefit with people who like to jog, hike and take long walks.
This girl is available for adoption and will be wonderful family friend.

Female Lab/Mastiff mix around 1-1,5 years old. Sweet girl. Great personality. Loves people and she is great will other dogs.
She is a bit shy and is afraid of raised voices. So she needs time to trust and be reassured that nothing bad will ever happen to her again.
This girl is very smart and quick learner. She would be great family dog when she finally finds her forever home.
She was rescued with her brother Dexter by IAA.
Ike
Male Akita Border Collie is our guess of his unique mix. He is about 10 months old. Very friendly boy who loves to dominate other dogs but he is not aggressive and that's how he tries to grab the other dog's attention to play. He is not big but vey massive and strong. He needs some training to walk properly on a leash and firmness to show him to not to be dominent with dogs. This boy has great potential; he is friendly, loving and smart. All he needs is some correction and some quality exercise time. He is a great runner, so he would be a wonderful jogging companion. He would also do very well at dog sports. We would suggest an active home for him where he will be able to burn his energy.
Hank
Male Labrador mix around 1,5 years old. Friendly boy. Full of energy. Loves to play and run. He is great with people and plays nicely with other dogs.Hank is a strong boy and he would be great with older children since he still doesn't understand that showing affection should not be by jumping. But we are working on it and he is doing better. He also needs a bit of work with walking on a leash but he is a smart boy and it should not take long for him to learn. This special boy will be great addition to any family.

Lucky
Young, full of energy, very playful German Shepherd cross. Lucky is warm, funny, sweet, nosy and bright. Loves people and other dogs. She would be a wonderful addition to an active pack that will keep heractive. Lucky is looking forward to meeting his new friends!!!

Jack is male heeler about 7 years old. He was surrender by his owners in high kill pound in KY because they had no time for him.
Jack is very smart boy, active and very loving. He would like to find his forever home where he could feel loved again.
Jack is very strong boy and like all heelers would be happy to please you and spend time with you. He's great in the car and loves to play;
needs to have some basic training like sit and stay, but he is a fast learner so it will not take him long to do what you ask of him.
This boy deserves second chance at life. Heelers are very loyal to their masters and make great family pets.

Rudy, male Standard Collie, shepherd , hound mix about 1 year old. Beautiful, friendly and great kisser. He seems to be good with all dogs and cats. Loves people and would like to be close to them all the time. He jumps a bit from excitement, when he wants to show you that he is happy. He is very smart and responds very well to corrections. Rudy loves outdoors and is very playful. He is a wonderful, happy boy and will be wonderful companion to any family. Rudy is housebroken and well mannered . He is a pure joy to have around.
Rambo
This is Rambo. He is 7 years old. He was just discarded like an old cardboard by his owners to the kill shelter. He knows that his family does not want him anymore. Rambo is very, very sad and broken. He has resigned to fate, his heart completely shattered. We can never understand the pain Rambo is carrying in his heart now.
Rambo knows he can never hold a candle to the younger ones. He has nothing except a resigned fate of living the rest of his life in loneliness and carrying his broken heart to his last breath.
We hope someone out there will see Rambo through the eyes of an opened heart. Rambo needs a home. Or he will die of a broken heart in the kennel.
Love, warmth and a home... that’s all he needs.
Whisky
Boxers are happy, high-spirited, playful, curious and energetic dogs. But not Whisky…
Whisky was abandoned by her family. Her life forcefully ended feeling terrified, alone and unloved.
Whisky is showing signs of depression. She's been lethargic, sleeps a lot, and keeps her distance unless you call her over. Despite all this, she has a very good temperament. She is eating well, going potty regularly.
What Whisky needs is love and affection. She may not just snap out of it on her own, but given a little effort and patience, she'll regain her emotional footing.
Please consider Whisky to become your best friend and loyal companion. She will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised.
Chance
Meet Chance - male Heeler pointer mix, about 1 year old. Incredibly smart and loving boy who came to us from KY pound as a very scared dog. This boy is doing amazing right now in his foster home, where he is learning so fast. His foster parents are extremely impressed with him. He is wonderful with people and good with dogs. He is active and still a bit shy and is getting used to new things fast. Chance like all heelers is very bright and will do anything to make his masters happy. Chance is very good at home, he is house trained and all he wants is to be close to you. He would be happy with people who love to spend time outdoors and like long walks in the park. He is currently in his foster home in Montreal.
Tabby
Tabby, female Shepherd Cross around 1,5 years old. This sweet girl was terrified of human touch; was shivering and hiding in a corner. She got better thanks to her foster Dad Les in KY who was spending lots of time with her, giving her TLC and reassuring her nothing bad will ever happen again. Now Tabby is in foster in Brockville Ontario and her foster Dad Bill Lindy is taking wonderful care of that gentle and sweet girl. Tabby is adorable, loving and has the kindest eyes in the world. She is improving a lot every day and has doggie friends; she gets along with them very well. Tabby has a big heart and she is truly very special girl. She needs gentle person who will show her love and will make sure that she needs a little time to open up completely and trust humans again. Tabby walks well on the leash, she is almost house broken and doesn't bark. This incredible, beautiful girl has the most amazing soulful eyes who possibly could tell story of her life if they could. She will be very loyal and wonderful friend.

Orro is young Lab mix. He came all the way from Kentucky to join I Am Alive – it was a long journey and He's waiting for just the right family to be his forever home!
He is a strong young fellow, bursting with energy and affection. He loves walks, running around in the backyard, playing with dogs, and cuddling with humans.

Remy, female Smooth Collie mix around 10 months old. Sweet, friendly girl who loves humans and other dogs. Remy is very loving and quiet girl. She is very athletic and loves to run and play. She is learning fast and it will not take her too long to do what is expected from her; all she wants is to please her humans. Remy is very beautiful, gentle and emotional dog; loves hugs, kisses and wants is to be near you all the time.

Elsa is a female German Shepherd around 5 years old, no longer wanted by her previous owners. She is a large, slightly overweight girl. No wonder, Elsa's only entertainment was food.
Neglected, never properly exercised she needs to regain strength in her joins. She needs to be on glucosamine supplement for few months.
Elsa has a wonderful and sweet personality, loves people and other dogs. She is very gentle and extremely affectionate. She bonds very quickly and is devoted to her humans.
Elsa listens well, is good off leash and is house-trained. If you are looking for a happy, confident, loyal and down to earth companion, please come and meet Elsa. You won't be disappointed.
Ally
Ally is less then 1 year old. She is Lab/Border Collie/Pointer mix. Very strong and active girl. She is wonderful with people, but likes to dominate some dogs. She needs strong hand and corrections when this behavior happens. Ally is very smart and is learning very fast. She will be good with voice corrections and positive training. She is a bully player and likes to wrestle with dogs, some dogs might not like it, but Ally does :) She is a smart girl and with proper training stop this behavior. She also needs some obedience training. She would be great for agility since she loves to jump.

Coco and Copper
Coco and Copper, female and male Shepherd cross around 2 years old. Coco is lighter in color female and Cooper is darker.
Both owner surrender. They are boned pair, they love each other; they go always together and it is heart breaking that
those amazing dogs were left in a pound. They are sweet, very friendly and all they want is a home again where they
will feel loved and cared for. Both are wonderful with humans and are housebroken.
We would really love if they could go together to one home.

Pola, malamute female about 1.5 - 2 years old, selective with dogs, great with humans.
Loves outdoor but she is not super active. Friendly girl who loves humans and would love to have a real home.
Golden
Beautiful male Golden Retriever cross - around 1.5 year old, great with dogs, loves people.
Levi
He is a sweet and gentle soul who loves to lounge around... mostly on the doggy bed. He is getting along wonderfully with the other dogs and is a bit curious about the cat, but hasn't chewed on her yet. He does chase her, though.
He is easy on the leash and doesn't pull much or often. He is a quiet boy and gets along well with children. I took him to a bonfire and he loved running with the kids there! They were aged from 4-14.
He goes into the crate (at night or when we leave), but is still relieving himself there. He is partially house trained. After being in a cage so long, it's understandable. We absolutely ADORE him!
Bianca
Bianca is a very young and playful girl. She has lots of energy and loves to play, but at night she becomes a snuggle bunny.
Bianca is friendly with other dogs, loves to play with her big foster sister.
She has great personality, loves to get out. Her foster parents are working with her on leash walking :)
Penny
Penny, female Chihuahua mix around 2 years old. Sweet but very shy at first. She needs a bit of time to warm up. She is good with dogs and cats. She is housebroken but loves regular walks and enjoys her time outside. She is sweet little girl who needs a home of her own a someone who she can cuddle with. She needs protected backyard as she loves to explore, not to run away but she is interested what's on the other side :) She is crate trained but she doesn't need a crate as she is good girl.

Lucky, male Border Collie cross around 8 months old. Beautiful boy with tick, shiny coat and eyes who can tell how much he would love to belong. This sweet boy is full of life and energy. He is funny and loving: still a bit shy with humans but gives kisses and loves to cuddle.Lucky loves other dogs and plays nicely with them. He runs like a wind and enjoys his play time outdoors. He needs some basic training and leash walking but he is learning fast and it should not be long until he becomes well mannered pup. This wonderful boy would really love to find active family who loves to jog and enjoys time outside.

Lupo heeler cross around 10 months old. Beautiful boy who adores humans and loves to play with dogs. He tends to be dominant with male dogs but great with females. Lupo reacts great to voice corrections and that would be suggested method of training. He is very submissive towards humans and enjoys human company. He is smart and learns quickly. This boy is unique with amazing coloring. He loves to run and is very fast. He still needs some basic obedience but he loves to please so it should not take him very long to learn. Lupo is great kisser and he will be great companion for active family.
Lexy
Lexi is a female boxer mix, around 11 months old. She has a sweet and loving personality. She's truly amazing and beautiful girl. Lexi is very friendly, active and loves to be near people all the time. She is housebroken, good on the leash and plays nice with other dogs. Lexi loves to play and will need an active home, since she is still very young and athletic.
Dina
Dina is a female German Shepherd, around 7 years old. She was dumped at the pound by her owner who said "No time for her". She is fully house trained, loves people and good dogs. Dina is a very happy, strong, special girl who just wants to be loved and wants to please. She loves interaction with people and other dogs and needs to be in an environment filled with love and would probably be best in an environment without small kids and loud noises. She is a very happy dog that has a big heart and with the proper attention can live a great life. Please consider bringing this gentle girl into your family.
